Hybrid:arts have developed vocational learning packages for
some time which concentrate on the types of teaching and learning
techniques that are now being recognised as crucial in dealing
with the individual and their strength, these include student
centred and personalised learning that uses ground breaking digitised
learning plans and e portfolios.
Hybrid:arts will continue and develop the service we currently
provide to Warwickshire LA, through schools and other organisations.
We plan to take this service forward to the future by working
in collaboration with the schools consortia in the development
and delivery of the new Diplomas through providing a simulated
work environment for additional and specialised learning, extended
projects, and general curriculum enrichment. Alongside this exciting
vocational applied learning we anticipate an involvement in the
delivery of the new occupational Creative and Media Apprenticeships.
The Apprenticeships are designed to fill the gaps for those not
accommodated by current educational training provision within
the training industry.
The developing educational training climate offers Hybrid:arts
the opportunity to widen its accreditation basis to include approved
status by the Edexcel and NCFE awarding bodies, thus allowing
us to match employers’ skills needs with the potential
of the learner.
Breadth of arts delivered
Creative technology is a term we use as an umbrella for
a multitude of arts activities. This includes music technology-
recording and mixing, Visual Production- graphics, animation,
digital imaging and video production. In visual production,
to compliment the technological, software based elements in
this programme there are always hands on tasks such as model
making, drawing, using cameras. In music the practical activities
include drumming and instrument playing, to encourage team
working. Singing and rapping encourage creative writing and
story telling, break dancing and street poetry support self
esteem.
For disaffected students we employ learning by stealth methods
to help them reach set targets. With the application of technology
young people are subconsciously undertaking additional training
in literacy, numeracy and decision-making. By making learning
fun and learner led the whole experience helps to grow confidence.
Our tutors are all practitioners in the creative industries,
from freelance DJ’s / producers to graphic designers /
film makers.
Our aims as a company.
Hybrid:arts has been avidly following the progression in
statutory and vocational learning with the development of the
Children’s Trust in Warwickshire. We hope we will be recognised
as a dynamic partner be to deliver some key specialist services
in partnership with the Directorate of Children, Young People
and Families.
We have a regional and national reputation yet we seek stability of our
workforce represented by longer-term mainstream contracts if we are to
sustain the quality and breath of the services we deliver.
